Denali Engineering Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and plumbing design for commercial, industrial, and government projects. We are looking for an engineer who can take ownership of systems from concept through construction and work effectively across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and related mechanical systems

• Perform heating and cooling load calculations, ventilation calculations, equipment sizing, and system analysis

• Design domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, and other plumbing systems

• Apply applicable plumbing, mechanical, energy, and building codes to project designs

• Select and specify equipment including AHUs, pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, and cooling towers

• Develop calculations, specifications, equipment schedules, and design documentation

• Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines and design production teams

• Review shop drawings and submittals and respond to RFIs during construction

• Support field investigations and construction-phase services

• Develop scopes of work and support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred, or ability to obtain licensure

• Strong HVAC and plumbing design experience

• Working knowledge of applicable plumbing and mechanical codes

• Experience with commercial, industrial, federal, or complex facility design

• Revit experience strongly preferred

• Ability to independently make and document engineering design decisions

• Strong communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills
